We started Family Night when my kiddos were just toddlers. Now, it’s what we look forward to weekly. Sometimes we have movie night, cooking night, baking night, or game night. The 4 of us decide what we want to do and enjoy the evening of Family Night. We were excited to be given the chance to review and have our own Family Pizza Party.

Pillsbury has a great line of products that my family loves including crescent rolls, cookie dough, biscuits, and pie crust. They have a new line of Pizza Crust in both Thin Crust and Classic Crust. We headed for Acme and picked up both for this review.
Pillsbury Pizza Crust Review
The crust rolled out very easy, here it is on my cookie sheet before forming it or anything. Pizza crust couldn’t be easier than this!
My kids are only 3 and 5 but they love to help in the kitchen. They were able to help put on the toppings: Sausage, onions, green peppers, pepperoni, and tomatoes. Elijah even helped cut the pizza with his kid size Curious Chef pizza cutter. If you are looking for great recipes for pizza and recipes using other Pillsbury items, go to their website for Meal Solutions! You’ll find quick and easy recipes for your family.
The pizza was yummy. The crust was flavorful and cooked just right. The Pillsbury pizza crust cooked evenly, nothing was soggy in the middle. We liked both crusts but I think my favorite was the Thin Crust since it was a bit crispier. Between the 4 of us, we ate 1-1/3 pizzas. We all agreed that this was delicious pizza, even better than the pizza we had earlier this week from a pizza shop. I love that I’m feeding my family fresh pizza filled with fresh ingredients. My kids loved the Pizza Shape plates that came with the Family Pizza Party pack! They look good enough to eat.
In between eating, good conversation is key to Family Pizza Night. Here were some “interview questions” that kept the night fun and light-hearted.
- What is your favorite thing about family pizza night?
- I get to cut the pizza myself! – Elijah
- Who in your family do you think would make the best pizza?
- Mommy because she puts lots of cheese on it. I like cheese. – Elizabeth
- Who would make the silliest pizza?
- I would because I would put all of the meat in the world on it because I’m a meat-eater! – Elijah
- If you could put any topping on a pizza, what would it be?
- Meat. – Elijah
- Olives. – Elizabeth
- What crazy shape would you make your pizza?
- Dinosaur like the cake grandma made for my birthday. – Elijah
When you pair an activity with Family Pizza Night it becomes more than just dinner, it becomes an event that your kids will look forward to. Some ideas include board games, video games, movies, act-out theater, painting contests, drawing with markers and crayons together especially on large posterboard, neighborhood walk, hike at the park, and evening at the playground. Let your kids make suggestions throughout the week and put them in a jar, then pick one suggestion each week.
Pictureka! Family Game Review
Pictureka! from Hasbro is a “find it fast” game. I wasn’t sure how this game was going to work out with a 3 and 5 year old when it says 6 and up but we gave it a try. Now, Pictureka! is our favorite game and we’ve played is several times this week already. Hasbro has an outstanding selection of old favorite games that you played as a kid and new family-focused games. Check out the Hasbro Website to check out the newest games available as well as pick up some hints on how to make your Family Game Night a success!
Pictureka! game instructions are simple to understand and follow. There are even instructions on how to include younger kids into the game.

Some games only keep my kids attention for 10 minutes, this game was addicting and the kids played for about 40 minutes! It is similar to an I-spy challenge but with more variations and challenges. Elijah enjoyed the challenges to find the items on the board first!
Elizabeth is 3 but played just as well as the rest of us. She ‘earned’ 3 cards, it only take 6 to win! To earn a card, you must find a certain number of a specified object on the board before time is up! Some of the cards are images so she could just look at the image and others were words so she had to process the thoughts of the word and locate the items on the board. This is a challenging game and rewarding when you locate the objects before the time runs out.
There isn’t anything more rewarding to Family Night than seeing my kids smile like Elizabeth is below. Family night is a great bonding time between parents and kids. It’s great to share fun experiences with your kids.
With no help from mom or dad, Elijah won the first game of Pictureka! fair and square. Can you see how proud he is of his accomplishment as he holds his 6 winning cars?!
Even Arnold, the dog won, sort of as he discovered the spilled Lemonade…
