My family loves potatoes – any way I cook them. Mashed, baked, scalloped, fries, hash browns – it doesn’t matter! I serve potatoes in some fashion at least several times a week, primarily at dinner. My kids love it when dinner include fries – crinkle, curly, seasoned, waffle, steak, or traditional. My favorite is curly fries but I buy all varieties. I just recently purchased a bag of McCain Seasoned Cross Trax Skin-On Potato fries. I like the waffle style but have never had them seasoned. They were delicious with our salmon burgers for dinner! YUM!

I love McCain‘s definition of good food, it is trustworthy, real, great tasting, convenient, simply prepared, and has reduced fat, sugar, and salt. Isn’t that what moms say too? The best foods are prepared with minimal ingredients – you know, with stuff you can pronounce and know. McCain starts out with real food that you can find your own kitchen cabinet, and they prepare it fresh, then freeze until you are ready to serve it to your family.
I really like how McCain potatoes makes dinner quick and easy for moms too. Just heat the oven up and pop them in. The quality is always great and reliable with all their products. I’ve never purchased a bag that wasn’t as good as the bag before!
We usually eat McCain potatoes as side dishes although I have tried them in recipes like loaded fries, cheesy potatoes, and hamburger casserole.
Family dinners are important for a number of reasons for health benefits, socially, emotionally, and academically. Kids who eat dinner together with their families often are healthier, less likely to become overweight, less likely to try drugs or alcohol, have better grades in school, will talk to their parents more, and have more self confidence. We eat dinner together nearly every night of the week, we put importance on that time. It is our time as a family to talk about our days, what we look forward to, and talk about anything on our minds. I would truly miss that special time together.
Besides the conversation, I love it when the healthy, well-balanced meal I prepare for my family puts a smile on their faces. When kids don’t like their food, they pick at it, grouch about it, and that makes dinner no fun. I have my kids try new food all the time and I do make them eat healthy. That doesn’t mean dinner doesn’t have to be fun! McCain potatoes make my family’s dinnertime more enjoyable – they put smiles on our faces.
