I try to teach my kids to be thankful for what they have, including their food. I didn’t think I’d be the mom telling their kids to eat their food and be thankful because there are kids around the world that would like it, but I do. My kids know that they are blessed and we pray for the bellies of the hungry kids every night.
Now, we can do more with Schwan’s Home Service. Instead of leaving it at “be thankful for what you have,” now you can “be thankful for waht you have and you can help others” at the same time with the Schwan’s “Open the Door to Thankful” program.
When you share what you are thankful for on the the Schwan’s Facebook page, Schwan’s will donate 5 meals to Feeding America! It’s simple to do and you can do it as many times as you want. I started with my husband, Matt.
Stop and remember what you are thankful for, share it with others, and help solve hunger. It couldn’t be easier than that! Schwan’s has already donated 250,070 meals as of this posting.
Feeding America is a top notch company and the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization. Kids and families are hungry right here in America. 1 in 6 Americans face hunger. They are the kids your kids sit next to at lunch, they are your neighbors, they could even be your friends and family.
The Open the Door to Thankful program is such an easy way to help, there’s no reason not to jump in and share what you are thankful for. Plus, if you share on “Thankful Thursdays” between now and October 10th, Schwan’s will double the donation to 10 meals per entry! How awesome is that?!Also, check out Schwan’s Home Service for your family. We love it for healthy meals and delicious BBQs.
