Mini Beef Pot Roast with Mediterranean Vegetable Blend Review
I have tried and tried to make pot roast but I have never made a good pot roast. My family will eat it but never like it. I thought I’d try out the Mini Beef Pot Roast because I personally like this comfort food.
The box contains 4 single servings. You can either microwave it or prepare in in boiling water on the stove. It just didn’t feel right to cook it in the microwave, so I chose to use my induction cooktop. Simply boil the mini beef pot roast in the bag for 14-16 minutes. Easy peasy.
I read some reviews of the Mediterranean Vegetable Blend on the Schwan’s website and saw so many rave reviews about the flavor of this vegetable side dish. It sounded too good to pass up. For this, I simply cooked the combination of zucchini, yellow squash, baby carrots, green beans, sweet onions and bell peppers on my cooktop for about 12 minutes. With all the boiling and steam, I was happy to be able to use my ultra-amazing range hood.
I hope you can see on the images above, how tender the Mini Pot Roast was. It had more than enough gravy to go with the mashed potatoes I paired with it. My husband exclaimed, “This is GOOD meat”. I told him that I didn’t think he liked pot roast, he said he did THIS pot roast! He’s never liked pot roast that anyone makes until now. My kids ate it up too, it was tender, juicy, and oh-so delicious. I will be placing an order for a couple boxes for sure! It really tasted like restaurant quality and the portions were just perfect.
The reviews I read about the Mediterranean Vegetable Blend went on and on about the aroma. They were right, it smelled so good while it was cooking that I knew it would be amazing when it hit our plates. The combination of olive oil, garlic, herbs, cheese, and fragrant spices really complete this gorgeous vegetable blend. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are not many vegetable side dishes worthy of praise but this is one of them! My kids liked everything except the yellow squash, but you can’t win them all. If you can get your kids to eat the other variety of vegetables in this blend, it’s a good thing.
We were very pleased with healthy meal from Schwan’s.
Southwest Style Fiesta Skillet Meal Review
My family enjoys Southwest style foods but sometimes it is a challenge to buy something pre-seasoned because it might be great for the parents but not for the kids. I took a chance with the Southwest Fiesta skillet meal because it looked so good. 🙂
The Southwest Style Fiesta Skillet Meal was easy to prepare. Simply heat the grilled steak strips, flame-roasted corn, black beans, green peppers, onions and vine-rippened tomatoes mixture on the stove. Heat the micro-steam pouch of seasoned Southern long-grain rice in the microwave for a few minutes. Combine, and dinner is done. This is great for a quick week-night meal that requires no prep and no fuss. I did make home made corn bread muffins to go with the meal as well.
The seasoning was great. It was enough to make me think that maybe my kids wouldn’t handle it but I was completely wrong, they ate it up. It had just the right amount of flavor for my husband and I too. While I was preparing it on the stove, I wasn’t sure if it would be enough for my family of 4, but it was. If you have older kids or teens, you may want to add another side to complete the meal. We were satisfied though.
My family agrees that this is a keeper too!
Unbreaded Chicken Breast Filets Review
We also received Unbreaded Chicken Breast Filets to review. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet, although I have checked them out. It comes with 10 filets to a box. I like that the size is consistent for each chicken breast filet. Sometimes when you purchase chicken breasts, they come in a variety of sizes, making it difficult to prepare for consistent amounts of food for everyone.
The Unbreaded Chicken Breast Filets also come individually sealed, making it easy to take only what you need. I like that they are not frozen solid together. The filets are trimmed so there is no need to trim away fat. I’m sure I’ll be using the filets in one of the many, many chicken recipes that I find myself making each week.
