With the warmer weather, we all want to be outside! In order to enjoy the great outdoors, there is plenty to do like cleaning the BBQ, lawn furniture, chairs, patios, etc. Plus, there is the normal household cleaning piled up on top. Finding quality products that work quickly and well will save you time so you can actually enjoy Spring and spend less time cleaning.
I have heard of CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover over the years but never tried it. I was sent a sampling of the ultimate deep-clean team: CLR, CLR Bath & Kitchen cleaner, CLR BBQ Cleaner, and CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner to review for this post.
CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover Review
I have had of CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover but never tried it. I had no idea it could be used in so many ways! Basically, CLR cleans by dissolving tough calcium and lime deposits and surface rust stains. You can use it on toilets, tubs, sinks, glass, chrome, stainless steel, shower heads, washing machines, and so much more.
I put CLR to the test in our old bath tub. The water drips and leaves a nasty build up that nothing penetrates. It’s been a hopeless cause for this and all the well-water stains in the tub.
The stains have been there for a very long time. I used a little of the CLR and even sprayed the CLR Kitchen and Bath and look at the results below! Seeing is believing. No amount of scrubbing has removed the stains before and CLR did it!
From there, I went to my washer. You can use a little CLR to clean your washer. You do clean your washer, right? (Shh! For years, I didn’t know you were supposed to clean your washer!) It did a great job. CLR can remove calcium, lime and rust quickly and easily. I really like that it doesn’t have harmful fumes or smells. I’ve tried many products that have left me gasping for breath – they seriously hurt my lungs. CLR is powerful but without the fume. Plus, it is septic safe and contains no phosphates.
CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner
The CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner quickly became my favorite all purpose cleaner. It sprays out quickly and easily and leaves thick foaming action cleaner directly where it was shot. It also removes calcium, lime and hard water deposits, rust, soap scum, and dirt. You can use it on practically everything including ceramic tiles, shower doors, sinks, tubs, grout, caulk, toilets, fiberglass, fixtures, and more. It is a multi-purpose cleaner that will save you time while you clean so you can actually get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather!
As I mentioned, I use the CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner in my bath tub. I really like that it is safe on caulk. I have had to replace the caulk around my tub several times because the other cleaners I tried ate right through it – the harmful fume kind! CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner has a light scent but not harmful fumes. The foam spray targets the tough stains and does all the work for you.
I would never think to use a spray product on a toilet but it is one recommended uses for CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner. Check out my well-water stained toilet below. Disgusting!
I used CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner in the toilet ball and around the base. I can normally get most of the stains out with my normal toilet bowl cleaner – mostly.
With a swish of the toilet brush and CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner, all the stains were gone instantly. Ok, I’m impressed! It’s easy to use, septic safe, no fumes, no phosphates, no ammonia, no bleach, and does a great job – what isn’t there to like?!
CLR Grease Magnet
CLR Grease Magnet is another foaming CLR cleaner made for cleaning stubborn grease, oil and tar. You can use it all over your house – inside and out including on cement, stone, blacktop, widewalks, driveways, BBQ, decks, and more.
I used CLR Grease Magnet on both my outdoor grill and my Kenyon indoor grill – with amazing results. I can’t believe how easy it was!
I’ve tried to clean it a number of times but couldn’t get my hands under the grate to do any scrubbing action. I just sprayed, let it soak, and wiped it clean.
I couldn’t believe the results – I took it outside for our outdoor BBQ too!
CLR Grease Magnet is biodegradable, and won’t hurt grass, shrubs, or surrounding vegetation. It makes getting grills and the outdoors ready for Spring in no time!
CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner
After furniture has sat outside all winter and then covered in Spring pollen, you’ll need to pick up some CLR Outdoor Furniture Cleaner. Cleanup is easy since it is made to remove outdoor dirt and grime. You can use it on resin, plastic, rattan, wicker, wood, wrought iron, vinyl, PVC, canvas, and more.
It did a great job cleaning our outdoor furniture – and so easy. Again, I like the thick foaming action – it really sticks to the surface you are cleaning and suds up great when scrubbing with a brush. It also has a UV protectant that will actually help your furniture from fading outside too. Getting your outdoor furniture ready for spring and summer is a cinch – you can actually spend time enjoying the outdoors instead of a weekend project cleaning!
You can buy CLR products at retailers nationwide and on Amazon.com.
This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to CLR who provided the products for review.
