Reading the Bible can be boring or adventurous for young children. It depends on how you deliver God’s Word to them. This post will talk about 2 Bibles that kids ages 4-7 like to read.
I have found several products from Zondervan that deliver age-appropriate Bible stories and Bibles to kids based on their age and even reading level. Providing our kids with age-appropriate Bible materials has made the difference and given our young children the love of reading God’s Word daily. My family had the pleasure of receiving a copy of The Jesus Storybook Bible and The Beginner’s Bible to facilitate this review post.
The Jesus Storybook Bible – Kids Bible for Ages 4-7
Every single story in The Jesus Storybook Bible points right back to Jesus. I love that about this Bible. Even as an adult, I have read stories, especially in the Old Testament that didn’t seem to have as much meaning as the New Testament to me. However, the digger you deep, the more you see how everything is connected to Jesus. The Jesus Storybook Bible does this naturally in stories from both the Old and New Testament. Jesus is truly the center of every story in the Bible. The Jesus Storybook Bible is designed for the comprehensive and attention span of 4-7 year old kids, which is perfect for my 6 year old daughter.

Having my children reflect on God’s Word before bedtime has been a special time for our family. It is the perfect transition to what can be a struggle for many kids. Having my kids reflect on God’s Word and on God while drifting off to sleep has relieved anxiety, especially of possible bad dreams.
We were able to review the Jesus Storybook Bible with my son 2 years ago when he was 6, it was the best step-up from the collection of Bible stories that he had. He enjoyed learning more details about stories than ever before with the longer stories. Now, he has graduated to the NIrV Adventure Bible for Early Readers.
However, both my daughter and son have enjoyed the accompanying CDs and animated DVD that came with this deluxe edition. I love that my kids want to watch and listen to the Word of God! They even have them on when their friends come over to play. The DVD is delightfully illustrated to keep your child’s attention and narrated by the calm, soothing voice of David Suchet. It is an exciting way for kids to learn about God’s Word.
What I like most is that my kids both choose to listen to their Bible CD at night while they drift off to sleep. What could be better to fill their heads and heart at bedtime? My kids have learned so much from the DVD and CDs which gives us time as a family to talk about what they have learned and answer questions. As you can tell, I love the The Jesus Storybook Bible and so do my kids!

The Beginner’s Bible Deluxe Edition – Kids Bible for Ages 4-7
The Beginner’s Bible is a favorite storybook Bible with over 6 million copies sold! It is available as a standalone Bible as well as with audio CDs. The Beginner’s Bible is full of lively, bright illustrations that your child will enjoy watching as you read the short stories to them. This Bible is for kids ages 4-7.

I like that each story references the Bible passage so that you can dive deeper if your child has questions and wants to learn more. The stories range from 3 – 7 pages so that it will keep your young child’s interest. There is even a website devoted to the Beginner’s Bible with games, activities, and resources for kids, parents, and teachers.
My kids love the 2 audio CDs that are included in the Deluxe Edition. They are wonderfully narrated with a great narrator, music and even sound effects. It is like having their very own drama taking place in their bedrooms as they listen to the Word of God come to life. There are over 90 Bible stories that your kids will want to listen to over and over again. My kids take turns with the CDs by trading about once a week. This allows them to finish their CD of Bible stories throughout the week and then switch to the other CD to listen to those. My kids often have the CDs playing while they are playing and even during play dates with their friends. There is nothing I like more than the CD blaring Bible stories!

You can even download the Beginner’s Bible App that includes 6 free stories, coloring pages, puzzles, and games for free.
The collectors version includes a DVD as well. Check out the below video for a sneak peek.
