This is the first time I’ve put garden fresh green beans in a tossed salad. My kids were happy to have a new, flavorful variety. I’m the type of mom that requires a salad with every dinner. It is very rare that we don’t have a tossed salad loaded with veggies.  It is one of the best habits I got my kids use to as young kids.

We’ve never had fresh green beans in a tossed salad before. Truth be told, I’ve never really liked fresh green beans because every recipe I’ve tried have been soggy. The trick is to blanch the green beans! Yay! They still snap when you eat them but are cooked.

These aren’t ordinary green beans, they restaurant-quality green and wax beans from  Farmer Jones Farm at the Chef’s Garden. They are now selling unique and specialty produce to end-users like you and I instead of just to chefs and fancy restaurants!  They ship right to your door – order a seasonal box, themed box, or by the item. I recommend the Best of the Season’s Box because it promises a variety of unique vegetables and herbs. You might be surprised by some of the vegetables – maybe never ever even heard of them before like me – but no worries, each box comes with delicious recipes to try – plus, I’m creating recipes for them that are family-tested and approved!

Adding vegetables from Farmer Jones Farm at the Chef’s Garden has given my family a new excitement about vegetables. Truthfully. If you are like me, you buy the same vegetables and herbs every week at the grocery store unless it is for a special recipe you found on Pinterest. I love that although I know in general what is going to be shipped to me, they are all unique and different than anything you can find at your local grocery store. Plus, by eating new and interesting vegetables and herbs, my family is getting additional vitamins and nutrients into our diet – variety is so important!

Order your first Best of the Season’s Box that is filled with fresh lettuce, mixed greens, spinach, summer squash, asparagus, English peas, wax beans, tomatoes, a mixture of fresh beets, carrots, and/or kohlrabi, and the best microgreens. Then, make this delicious Green Bean Tossed Salad with Balsamic Basil Vinaigrette recipe for dinner!
