Two Dresses, Six Ways for Spring 2014 at Kohl’s

Extend your wardrobe this Spring by accessorizing your dresses for multiple styles. I was given the challenge to style two dresses six ways by selecting some of Spring 2014 fashion trends at Kohls.

I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received Kohl’s gift cards and sample pieces to facilitate my posts and as a thank you for participating.

I have always enjoyed wearing Navy Blue, it is the color I look and feel the best in. Designers have created pieces using Navy Blue for Spring/Summer 2014 daywear but it is also gaining popularity for evening as well. Will Navy Blue be the new black? I hope so! It is the most flattering, chic color I know. Look no further than the Chaps brand a Kohl’s for stately navy blue fashion.  I chose the Chaps Pieced Sheath Dress for the first dress. It has a modern, fit-and-flare fit that is figure flattering.

For Dress One, Style One, I paired the dress with a lovely Chaps Plaid Cardigan. This light cotton cardigan is perfect for the cooler temps this Spring, as well as the chilly office buildings for work. The 3/4 sleeves make this the perfect addition to any wardrobe and a perfect look with the navy dress.  Nautical stripes are trending this season, the Chaps line at Kohl’s is the perfect spot to add this fashion trend to your wardrobe.

I accessorized this dress with a hammered disc bib hammered disc necklace by daisy fuentes. This bib necklace compliments the boat neckline of the dress flawlessly. Spring2014DressTrendsKohls (3)

For my second look, I removed the cardigan to show off the cap sleeves for a more Spring look. I have it paired with pumps and a coordinating satchel for a tailored look that can take me anywhere from the office to dinner out.  Spring2014DressTrendsKohls (5)

You can quickly change the look of any outfit with a lovely scarf. For style three, I added a Chaps Floral Layered Ruffle Scarf to the navy blue dress. This scarf adds a wink of pink to this outfit – a huge style trend for this season. This scarf is very feminine with ruffles and floral patterns making it the perfect way to soften the look of any outfit.

For my second dress selection, I chose the Simply Vera Vera Wang Floral Chiffon-Trim Dress. This dress embodies many Spring 2014 fashion trends elegantly.  Feminine clothing is highly fashionable this season. Everything from the silky and sheer fabric to the floral prints to the lace neckline and sleeve accents are right on for this season.

I accessorized with a long Simply Vera multistrand necklace with both black and pink colors to coordinate with the dress.

For the second style, I added a lovely Simply Vera Vera Wang Simply Separates Flyaway Cardigan.  This open front cardigan is light and flows very well with the style of this dress. The black cardigan coordinates well with the neckline accents of the dress. Not pictured below, the back of the cardigan has a sheer opening, making it perfect for Spring – for both warmth and the lace trend.Spring2014DressTrendsKohls (7)

Generally any dress can be made casual by toning down the jewelry and adding pretty sandals. Below, I have opted to just wear earrings and replaced my pumps for Simply Vera Vera Wang Rhinestone Thong Flip-Flops. This outfit can take me anywhere this Spring/Summer with my family or out with friends. Please excuse this weird photo, it was the only one in this outfit without my eyes closed, although they seem to be here too!

I also added a new Simply Vera handbag in pink. It adds a lot of fun and style to any outfit – I was ready to unload my dark Winter purse for something exciting and fun for the Summer.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how you can easily turn two dresses into six with a few accessories. One thing that I really like about Kohl’s is how they display their brands together with accessories. It makes it easy to accessorize with coordinating pieces right on the spot.

I tend to shop by brands at Kohl’s because there are so many pieces that you can mix and match easily within each designer’s line. As you saw above, I shopped and coordinated Chaps together and again, Simply Vera. That being said, it is so fun and easy to accessorize between all the brands and with items you already have at home. By styling your outfits multiple ways, you end up with a full wardrobe with endless possibilities.

Another brand to keep an eye on is Peter Som! His new DesigNation line is inspired by St. Barth’s, so you already know there are going to be amazing styles for this Summer! Check out my sneak peek here. His products are available for sale starting tomorrow online only and in stores on April 10th.
