In my last post on dishwashers, I posed the question “What is the best dishwasher? Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher?” We have been putting the Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher to the test every day since we installed it in our new kitchen a couple months ago. Doesn’t it look gorgeous in the stainless steel finish next to our cabinetry?
I can honestly say that I haven’t had one dish come out of the dishwasher dirty or spotty at all.
This is a HUGE deal as I was about to go back to hand-washing my dishes with the poor performance of our old dishwasher. The CleanPlate™ technology obviously really does work. It does all the pre-rinsing for you so you can spend less time getting your dishes ready to be washed. This is perfect for me because I have never pre-rinsed dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.
For my messier pots and pans, I use the High Temperature Wash Option, it gives the wash an extra boost of hot water. It’s AMAZING! Check out my spotless casserole 9 x 12 dishes below!
The bottom rack handles plenty of large bowls, plates, skillets, etc too!
My favorite, favorite feature of the Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher is the space on the top rack. I use to only put glasses and small bowls on the top rack of my previous dishwashers. With the Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher, I can put large sports bottles, pots, pans, and other taller items. It is like having two bottom racks in my dishwasher.
One feature that I didn’t think I would actually use were the Twice as Nice™ In-Rack Silverware Baskets. There are actually 2 silverware baskets that allow you to put them in multiple places on the top or bottom rack. Generally, I keep them at the front end of the bottom rack. However, I have been using just one when I have larger dishes and less silverware or allow you to place them either on the top or bottom. I like the flexibility that allows. Plus, the baskets have antimicrobial that prohibits growth of stain or odor-causing bacteria.
I didn’t think I’d use the Cup Shelves either but it’s great for my kids small cups and husband’s cappuccino cups.
As you can tell, my experience with the Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher has been very positive. It cleans very well, there is plenty of space for my dishes, and it looks fantastic in my kitchen. The price point of just $379 for this quality of a dishwasher is impressive too. I recommend the Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher if you are dishwasher shopping.
